I’ve spent the past decade using operations to bring people together—creating spaces where communities can learn, innovate, and build something bigger than themselves. From expanding access to coding education to organizing world-class hackathons and events, I’ve worked to embed equity and education into systems that reach more people and create real opportunities. Nonprofit work has been about removing barriers, creating opportunities, and building infrastructure that lasts.
CAIR-CA, Ops Manager – (October 2022- Present)
I run operations at one of the largest chapters of the nations largest American Muslim Civil Rights firm, ensuring that advocacy is backed by solid systems, people feel empowered in their roles, and impact is measurable. My biggest win? Bringing transparency to team growth—so every member knows where they stand and where they can go.
Stabilizing the team has been another major focus, making sure we have the right people in the right roles, equipped to do work that matters.
And yeah, going to war with HR.
On Deck, Founding Fellow - (February 2022 - September 2022)
Community is really important, and I found that business development professionals, operators, and founders all struggled with the same things. I spent an intense period of time doing weekly mastermind groups and we solved challenges for some really large companies, including American Express, Figma, Chewy, and MasterClass.
SacHacks, Executive Director, Advisor - (November 2018 - April 2021)
I thought I was done with hackathons—until I got a call from Derek, someone I used to sweep popcorn with at our local movie theater. He wanted to build something meaningful, and I agreed to give it one last go.
We took SacHacks through a period of major recognition, securing funding and sponsorships during the uncertainty of COVID—not an easy feat when companies were cutting budgets left and right. We pivoted events, ensured sponsors still saw value, and even got recognized by the NBA. A wild ride, but it reinforced something I’ve believed for a long time: when you build something worth supporting, people show up.
CodeDay, National Manager Coach - (November 2015 - November 2017)
If there’s one nonprofit that still has my heart, it’s CodeDay. It wasn’t just an organization; it was a crash course in leadership, systems thinking, and what it truly means to create inclusive learning environments.
By my final year, I was working directly alongside the founder, supporting over 30 Regional Managers in leading a national network of programs that lowered the barrier to entry for thousands of students in tech.
Ro Khanna for Congress, Intern, Canvasser - (Sept 2014 - January 2017)
We wanted to replace an incumbent who was doing nothing (he helped rename a post office) with someone who actually understood economic policy and had the vision to make an impact for the Silicon Valley.
Ro is one of the smartest economists I’ve met—not something most people associate with him, but it shaped how I thought about scale, policy, and structural change.
HS Hacks III, Ops Lead– (February 2016 - March 2017)
The goal was simple: take everything we learned from the last event and go bigger. Bigger teams, bigger sponsors, bigger impact. Scaling isn’t just about size—it’s about reinforcing the foundation so that growth doesn’t break the system.
HS Hacks II, Event Organizer – (March 2014 - Feb 2015)
My mentor, Lan Paje, threw me into this space, and I never looked back. This was the start of my journey into operations, learning how to build communities, lead teams, and design experiences that people remember.
Some lessons take years to sink in. Others, like this one, shape the way you view the world, and last a lifetime. Thank you Lan.
