Quotes that I’m loving:
Gratitude
Ok but seriously, there’s nothing more powerful than gratitude.
Genuine gratitude destroys all sorts of negativity. There is a lot we could all be negative about. But practicing daily gratitude has allowed me to appreciate so much more around me.
Your entire life can change instantly, so it’s important to never take things for granted.
Authenticity
I will be myself and encourage others to do the same. When one can be themselves, they perform better. You can force a round peg into a square hole, which likely results in employee burnout, frustrations, and lack of creativity.
If someone can be themselves genuinely, they don’t waste energy trying to be someone they aren’t. My manager, Levi, enabled this value, leading to more meaningful and genuine relationships in the workplace.
When you take authenticity and bring it over to your friend circle, the same wonders happen.
Growth
Trying to be the best version of myself. Personal growth is important — but that means different things to different people.
My personal growth ranges from practicing patience and empathy to being more mindful.
A basic framework I use is
- The current state being addressed
- What do we want a better version to look/feel like?
- What steps can we take to get there?
- How much time will that take daily?
You can apply that framework to anything you want to improve — it works the same for a skill like cooking, lifting, and reading but also more abstract things like leadership, time management, and even kindness.
Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart.
— Zig Ziglar
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
— William Arthur Ward
Stay away from those people who try to disparage your ambitions. Small minds will always do that, but great minds will give you a feeling that you can become great too.
— Mark Twain
